Working setup - my cute magic room 🧙✨

Updated: Jul 10

During the time I have been creating products I have tried many devices, printers, cutters, heat presses and 3D printers. So I'd like to share what equipment I have in my studio and what I use it for, in case you are wondering what to get for your start.

Computer and tablet :

I create graphics before producing, mostly in programs like Aseprite ( pixelart program), Photoshop and other Adobe programs, and other software as needed. I have been using a graphics tablet from XP Pen 24 Pro for years, it's a really big tablet which I also have as a replacement for a monitor. But it's not a necessary investment at all, I had a smaller XP pen 13 to start with, which is cute and totally adequate!

Printer :

I used to have a Canon Pixma iX6850, which is A3 sized printing, for posters it's an amazing printer. It has a nice range of colours and the print quality is good, unfortunately it hasn't suited me in the long run because of the need to buy cartridges. After a year of use I switched to the Epson L1210, the printer is much more economical regarding colour with EcoTank where you can refill ink from bottles. The print quality is very similar to my older printer, but it's only A4 size. You can also buy a printer with a larger print area, but for now this one is perfectly fine for me. I use it to print really everything, business cards, stickers, packaging, artprints etc.

Cutting machine :

I debated for a long time whether to get a Cricut or a Silhouette, but since I really use a desktop computer more often than a tablet or mobile, I found the Silhouette cameo 4 better for the price/performance ratio. The cutter offers many options for cutting into different materials, adjustable cutters or engravers. It is a perfect combination with a printer, where it cuts absolutely accurately thanks to the printed marks! For creating stickers and cards, it is an important part of my equipment.

3D printer :

I also got the printer for my own hobby, cosplaying, but making creative products on it is also amazing. The printer can handle basic materials, PLA, ABS or Wood (which is my favorite). I chose the printer because its design is aesthetic compared to others. I use it to print keychains or itemframes, it is also amazing for creating small decorations for the home.

Heat press :

I also have an automatic Vevor Heat Press for sublimation. For printing on sublimation paper I also have an Epson L 3550 with sublimation ink. The heatpress is 15 x 15 in ( cca 35x35cm) so for printing larger designs it is very good. If you buy the right type of sublimation product, you can creatively decorate items made of textiles, plastic or glass. For now, I use it to create coasters, keychain holders, t-shirt and mug.
