How to create your branding

Updated: Jul 9

Before I started my business, I also created my branding. The main thing is, it doesn't have to be perfect! Over the time of your creation, it's perfectly fine to change the style, fonts or logo as you grow your business. For example, I started with a brown palette and a very natural style, but later I started to change my brand into a more girly and soft style, until I finally switched from brown to pink palette.

I have a template that I use to create my branding. It has box for a main large logo, small sub-versions in a circle ( for example for shipping stickers ), 2 main fonts, main colors and a moodboard. You can use this template to make your own branding, it will definitely help you stay to your original style when creating any graphics for your store.

The perfect moodboard for your projects, product designs or collections?

In order to keep themed collections in one aesthetic, it helps me a lot to make a moodboard full of things that will stick with my designated aesthetic.

For multiple feature options and really simple tools, MILANOTE is the best for me. So my moodboard always includes basic colors, images for inspiration, some mockups I've already created, pieces as part of a project. This way I gradually fold the board with each new collection, I also have a better overview of what is already done and what still needs to be worked on.
